GSP Airport Presented 2011 Governor's Cup

GREENVILLE, SC- Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport was recognized with the prestigious Governor’s Cup for their role in recruiting Southwest Airlines to South Carolina.
This recruitment effort was a shining example of collaboration between the Convention and Visitors Bureaus of Greenville and Charleston along with GSP International and Charleston International Airport.
The Governors Cup is awarded each year to honor a tourism partner whose event or organization has had a significant impact on the economy and quality of life for its community as well as the entire state.
“This was truly a statewide undertaking and we are extremely honored to have the opportunity to share this prestigious award with Charleston International Airport, said Dave Edwards, GSP Airport President and CEO. “So much hard work and dedication went into pursuing Southwest Airlines, and now they are here and happy, and so are we.”
The Governor’s Cup was presented to Dave Edwards, Minor Shaw, Sam Konduros and Joe Erwin at the 2012 S.C. Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Travel held at the Embassy Suites Greenville.
