Unmanned Aircraft System Operations

Commercial and recreational operators of model aircraft and drones must receive approval to operate near Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

To operate as a “hobbyist” for recreational use, which means no compensation is involved, the operator must coordinate with Greer Air Traffic Control (ATC) before operating within five miles of GSP. To operate commercially, remote pilots must apply for a Part 107 Waiver and receive HQ FAA approval.

Greer ATC can be contacted at 864-879-2155.
