CALEA Public Notice

The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport Police Department is scheduled for a virtual on-site assessment on October 26 through October 28, 2020, to ensure, compliance with the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies' (CALEA) accreditation standards. In order to maintain its current accreditation status, the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport Police Department must comply with all applicable professional standards.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the virtual on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments through a public phone-in session by calling (864) 848-6281 on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. until 3 p.m. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.

Agency employees and members of the community are also invited to offer comments at a public information session on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 7 p.m. The session will be completed using Zoom Meetings. The link for the Zoom meeting is the following:

Telephone comments and appearances during the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards. An overview of CALEA standards can be found on CALEA’s website at www.calea.org.
